Stegosaurus Facts

The name Stegosaurus means roof-lizard and had a distinctive tail spikes and plates, and is one of
the most recognisable dinosaurs, along with Tyrannosaurus and Raptor. The plates are thought to have acted like car radiators helping to keep the Dinosaur cool.

Stegosaurus' lived 155 to 145 million years ago and were land Dinosaurs.

The Stegosaurus was large, heavily built and a herbivorous (ate plants), Stegosaurus' had a distinctive heavily arched back, short legs and it held its head low to the ground with its stiffened tail held high in the air.
